It’s time for the Price is Right videogame

The Price is Right
Casual games publisher and developer Ludia Inc. just announced a deal with Fremantle Media to launch The Price Is Right across all the major platforms. Based on the long-running gameshow, the title will feature continuously updated real life merchandise. The downloadable PC game will be available this Holiday season (2007).

Core gameplay will revolve around The Price Is Right’s trademark price guessing and product placement goodness and, of course, “the wheel” will be a part of the proceedings. The title will also include several party-style pricing minigames including Cliffhangers, Plinko, Punch-A-Bunch and Hole In One.

It looks like Ludia is aiming squarely at the most casual of markets – people who watch The Price is Right. Historically, games based on gameshows have been a little spotty (like the various versions of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune), but this could be just what grandma ordered.
