With the recent trio of Sony product mods making web waves (PS3 laptop, PSP with touchscreen and PSP Phone), the thought of a Wii laptop is pretty exciting.
I would love to play the Wii on the road like Visteon’s GBA dockable entertainment system. Although it might not be a complete “dockable entertainment system,” a portable screen attachment sure makes it look like one.
Currently available through ThinkGeek for $110, the Wii Portable 16:9 LCD Screen allows you to simply dock the Wii into the side and flip up the screen to begin playing. When you’re finished playing, just flip the screen down for convenient storage. In case you are worries about using wireless WiiMotes, there is an integrated Wii sensor bar.
The screen is on a ball-and-socket hinge to allow freedom of movement and the device includes reverse/up/down picture control in case you want to hang it from something like the roof of a car or maybe a top bunk.
The screen is powered by plugging it into the wall or you can hook it up with the included car lighter adapter. This looks like it would be great for long trips and there are some extra AV ports that are designed to hook up a DVD player.
