Indie Game Mag releases issue 2

by Danielle Riendeau on Dec 23, 2008 at 05:25 PM

Indie Game MagSo, hey, do you like indie games? Are you a fan - or do you want to be a fan - of all the tiny or under-the-radar or radical new games coming out? Then let me point you towards a new resource - Indie Game Mag, which covers all aspects of the underground game development scene, with plenty of reviews. Issue 2 has just released, and if you’re interested, you can subscribe, buy a physical copy, or download a digital copy of the issue. Decisions, decisions.

Ready for a mission statement - I’ll let the magazine’s site speak for itself:

“Indie Game Mag reviews and reports news on indie and casual games only!

What are indie games? Indie games are video games made by only a hand full of people, as opposed to the massive teams that make up the largest game studios. Indie Games are typically published by the people that make them or by some other small casual portal or distributor.

What are casual games? Casual games in many cases are made by small indie game developers and qualify as indie games. Casual games are defined by simple rule sets and appeal to a wide mass audience. Typical casual game genres include: match-3, time management, seek & find, puzzle, etc. Indie games are often times casual games, but casual games are not necessarily indie.”

Seriously - give this one a look. Think of it as your guide into a wonderful, liberated new world. Or a reliable crap filter. Either way.
