Get ready to crack that whip: Indiana Jones’ latest adventure, the divisive The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will get the usual DVD/Blu-ray treatment on October 14, 2008. According to ICV2, the film will be released in a variety of SKU’s, including a bare-bones Single Disc version, a two disc Special Edition in DVD or Blu-ray, and as part of the all-inclusive Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventure Collection, which includes the previous three films and the two-disc version of the latest.
As always, the special editions of the film will include special features, including a feature on the making of the movie titled “The Return of a Legend” and a mini-documentary chronicling director Spielberg’s dealings with animatronics and Star Shia Labouf’s sword fighting training. Exciting stuff, no? I know lots of folks were torn on Indy’s latest adventure, as it certainly got the hallmarks right (adventure, wacky supernatural forces, the screwball humor) but a few things felt very off - or old (it was set a solid twenty years after the last chapter). Either way, I’ll probably pick up the basic DVD.
Persona 4 is simply a stunning, engaging and wonderfully crafted RPG with plenty of player interaction, interesting dungeons and a fantastic story. It will easily be the PS2’s swansong.
