Steam is practically giving away 3D Realms’ sci-fi first-person shooter Prey for the price of $4.95. The special offer is for this weekend only (March 29-30, 2008), so you don’t have a lot of time at your disposal. Prey is a first-person shooter, for the PC and Xbox 360 and has sold more than 1 million copies across both the platforms since its 2006 release.
The game became available for download on Steam on November 30, 2006, and normally carries a price tag of $19.95. You can download the game for the special price only this weekend.
The game, developed by Human Head Studios, utilizes a modded version of the Doom 3 engine. Prey is set inside a living spaceship, which savagely feasts on humans. The game incorporates several path breaking innovations. The second iteration of the game, Prey 2, is expected later this year. To play the game, you will need at least an Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz processor, 512 MHz RAM, a Direct X 9.0 C compatible card with 64 MB memory and 2.2 GB of free hard disk space.
