Ah Fishing Master - it was one of the first Wii games I ever played, so the title holds a spot in my heart. It turns out that the sequel, Fishing Master World Tour is going to be coming out January 6, 2008. The best part is, its going to be slightly less expansive than the typical Wii game, costing only $29.99 (as opposed to those $39.99 and $49.99 titles). While the original Fishing Master had you traveling and fishing throughout Japan, the sequel takes you around the world in search of aquatic creatures to catch.
Fishing Master World Tour sends players on a worldwide quest to catch over 200 fish and prove, once again, that they are master fishermen. This entry also allows players to deep sea fish in certain locations, trolling from boats as opposed to just sitting on the shore. There will also be Boss Battles, where you can try to catch elusive fish. The best addition is likely the Nintendo WiFi Connection capability that allows people to fish against three other people to see who’s the best.
I wish Hudson had decided to release Fishing Master World Tour just a little bit earlier. I know it would have been on my Christmas list if they had. Fishing has always been a family activity, and Hudson’s original Fishing Master game offered a great bonding opportunity.
