Activision has officially started the closed multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War exclusively on the Xbox 360. The multiplayer portion of the game is expected to be just as good or even better than Call of Duty 4. The beta is only running for a few weeks so time is of the essence. You can join the WWII inspired mayhem by doing one of two things. The first is very easy, the second requires a bit of luck.
If you pre-order Call of Duty: World at War at GameStop, you are guaranteed entry into the beta. It’s just as simple as it sounds. The other option you have is registering at the Call of Duty website and hope a beta token comes your way.
The available modes for the WaW multiplayer are Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Free-For-All, and War. You can play as either the U.S. Marines, German Wehrmacht, Japanese Imperial Army, or the Russian Red Army. Each side has their own strengths which you’ll be able to explore with the betas 3 different maps.
