The Incredible Hulk returns to theaters Summer 2008
When Marvel Comics and Universal Studios originally announced they were planning on making a new update to the Incredible Hulk, I, like many fans, was skeptical about another Hulk movie coming out so soon after the original, dismal, 2003 Ang Lee Hulk movie. That move was slammed by critics and fans for its mediocre special effects, bad acting and poor plot. Well, apparently both Marvel and Universal Studios still believe that there is some hope yet for the big, mean, green machine.
This week, the first official trailer for the new Incredible Hulk movie was released and, right off the bat, you can see the difference in the style of the film compared to the 2003 film as the Hulk himself, is darker, buffer and feels more natural then the more cartoon-like 2003 computer generated Hulk.
Due to be released June 13, 2008 in theaters nationwide, The Incredible Hulk has lined up a more noticeable cast, lead by Edward Norton (who is also writer for the Hulk) as Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and William Hurt as General Ross (who is promised to be more like his comic book counterpart as apposed to the Sam Elliot Ross in the original Hulk movie). Tim Roth will be taking on the role as the center villain to the Hulk, the fearsome Abomination. Fans can also expect a cameo from Robert Downey Jr, as Tony Stark, a possible hint at an Avengers movie, as the Hulk and Iron Man were two of the founding members.

on March 19, 2008 at 10:59 AM - LINKWasn’t Hulk being dropped from a helicopter how he died in the made-for-TV movie?
on March 19, 2008 at 01:40 PM - LINKYeah that is how he died in the TV movie. It might be a nod to that crap movie too but also it was one of the scenes in the Ultimate Avengers comics.
on March 19, 2008 at 07:45 PM - LINKAh yes, that was a pretty crappy (TV) movie. But hey, I watched it anyway - like I do most big screen comic book adaptations.
