ezGear’s gloves are one-size-fits-all boxing style gloves with adjustable straps and special pouches for both the Wiimote and Nunchuk. The first flaw is the way the Wii controllers fit into the gloves. Even though the pockets are made for the Wiimote and Nunchuk, it is a very tight fight. The Nunchuk had a foam mold that you could fit it into but I had to struggle to push it into the pocket that was made for it. Not only is the pocket to hold the Nunchuk too tight but the pocket to hold the Wiimote is worse.
It is good that the EZGear provides a transparent piece of plastic so you can see the buttons on the Wiimote but pushing the buttons does nothing. The transparent screen is so tightly bound to the Wiimote that the buttons are permanently pushed down. Since I could not use the buttons, I could not start a game without taking the WiiMote out of the gloves.
While I was fighting, I found the Boxing Gloves made the stance between my wrists so far apart that I could not fight well. I decided to take them off and play the game without them and I fought a lot better.
In short, the ezGear’s Wii Boxing Gloves did not improve my game but instead made it worse. However, the company states that the user can use the gloves without putting the WiiMote and Nunchuck in the pockets. I highly recommend wearing the gloves for added realism, and keeping the controllers in the palms in one’s hands. That is about all I can recommend for the Wii Boxing Glove.
A set of the ezGear Boxing Gloves for Wii is currently available for $24.99 or two sets for about $39.99.
