As the April release date for the hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV nears, Rockstar has revealed 2 of the 18 radio stations that will be featured in the game.
According to IGN, the first new station is “IF99”, which will be the home for “International Funk”. IF99 will be hosted by none other then Femi Kuti, who is the son of the late Fela Kuti, a pioneering force behind Afrobeat, which is a combination of Yoruba, jazz, highlife and funk rhythms, and mixed with African percussion and vocal styles music.
IF99 will cover many of the most popular Funk songs from the past 30 years.
The second radio station that will rock Liberty City is “Vladivostok FM”. This station will be focused for those citizens of Liberty City that hail from the former Soviet Eastern Blocks and center on Rock themed Post Communist music.
The host of Vladivostok FM is the sexy Ukrainian born pop star, Ruslana.
Both stations will feature songs from both their hosts, including but not limited to, “Sorrow Sweat and Tears” from Femi Kuti and “Wild Dance” by Ruslana. You can also expect these two stations to feature the usual humorous banter that GTA radio stations have become known for.
Grand Theft Auto IV will be released on April 28th, 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
