Good news for owners of Mass Effect 2. Bioware has something special, and free, for you today (February 9, 2010).
Bioware is giving free downloadable content to everyone with the game and the necessary internet connection to access it. You get a new piece of armor, the Cerberus Assault Armor, and a new weapon, the M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun.
The free armor and weapon DLC went live at 12pm MST today (February 9, 2010). So if you are near your gaming PC or Xbox 360 and check, it should be waiting for you to download it. The only catch is, you have to activate the Cerberus Network to get both items. As long as you bought Mass Effect 2 new, you should have gotten a code to unlock access to the Cerberus Network.
If you want a more detailed look at the Cerberus Assault Armor, check out the armor page at the Mass Effect 2 site. There’s a tidy description that makes the armor sound real. It also states the three benefits you get by equipping the armor, which are +10% heavy weapon ammo capacity, +10% health and +10% shields.
Sounds like fun! After all, free dlc is always good dlc.
