I think you know “who you gonna call” on June 16th, 2009. Yes, that lame joke was my attempt at celebrating the official launch date of the very hot looking Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which is coming to almost everything (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, DS, Wii, PC) on June 16th (and the 19th worldwide). The game will be simultaneously launched with a 25th anniversary edition Blu-ray version of the original film, which stands as one of the best (and most bizarre) of wacky 1980s comedies.
The title’s got all sorts of Ghostbusters street cred, as original actors Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson voice characters in the game, and the script was written by the original film’s writers (and stars) Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. Also, it’s sporting some very cool ghost-hunting gadgets and a fun looking physics engine, since, you know, gameplay is king.
Hell, it’s enough to make me want to break out my ancient ghost traps and start playing with them around the house. Although, that might get me a few strange looks… Either way, the game is looking to be one of the biggest releases for late spring, so we’ll be seeing much more of it as the time comes.
