After three animated movies and a successful animated series, popular anime series Ghost in the Shell is heading to the big screen as a live action motion picture. Ghost in the Shell is being produced by DreamWorks under the guidance of Avi Arad, the man behind many Marvel movies including X-Men and the upcoming Iron Man.

Spielberg told Variety, “Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite stories, it’s a genre that has arrived and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks.”
Ghost in the Shell is just one of many anime projects that are currently being worked as a live action franchise. This summer will see the release of Speed Racer, which is directed by the Wachowski brothers of The Matrix fame. Other live-action anime projects still to come include Dragon Ball Z, Battle Angel, Avatar and Akira.
Ghost in the Shell has always had one of the best visual style and graphical stories to come from the anime-insane culture of Japan. If done properly, an American produced film could be a worthwhile treat for America anime fans. Whether or not the live-action movie will be based on any of the previous Ghost in the Shell movies, anime series or manga books is unknown but it is likely that the film will borrow heavily from existing source material.
Persona 4 is simply a stunning, engaging and wonderfully crafted RPG with plenty of player interaction, interesting dungeons and a fantastic story. It will easily be the PS2’s swansong.
