Get your Halo fix early with ActionClix

by PJ Hruschak on Aug 22, 2007 at 03:29 PM

Gamertell Halo ActionClix 01 As we saw at ComiCon, many companies are producing Halo tie-in products from inexpensive stickers to pricey life-size replicas. Somewhere in the middle are the affordable fun stuffs, like WizKids’ Halo ActionClix.

Being released a week before the Xbox 360 Halo 3 game in September 2007, fans can start collecting colorful 3D plastic miniatures based on the Clix tabletop game franchise. Each pack runs $10, but you get 4 game figures, 4 stat cards, 2 tiny dice and 1 start-up map with the miniatures including characters, vehicles and weapons from all three Halo games.

The game is played using the same concept as the other Clix games (like HeroClix) where you pit miniatures against other gamers with wins determined, based by situations and stats. Take a hit and you turn the clicking base of the figure to change attack, damage, speed and defense stats. The games also includes Haloesque features such as respawning dead characters and weapon swapping to help make figures more powerful.

The first Halo ActionClix series will consist of more than 80 collectible pieces in three themes packs: Hunter Combat Pack, the Warthog Pack and the Banshee Pack. Each pack will also include character cards that will outline each unit’s special abilities. Preorders are already being taken at Target.

I’m waiting for a sample pack to arrive from WizKids. once it does I’ll be sure to post a few photos.
