If you didn’t feel like pre-ordering Patapon just to get the demo for your PSP, but you really wanted another demo to waste time with, then head over to the Playstation Store. A free demo of a forthcoming puzzle game from Agetec called Puzzle Guzzle is now available as a free, 11MB download. It offers the chance to sample some of the puzzles that will be found in the full version of the title.
Puzzle Guzzle involves shuffling around and solving block filled puzzles by making shapes. Players can individualize their game avatar after successfully completing puzzles. There is also the ability to create puzzles to share with other players. The press release also states that it offers infrastructure WiFi interactions where players can exchange information with others. However it seems this is limited to just exchanging player statistics as there is no mention of online infrastructure multiplayer and only ad-hoc multiplayer is mentioned on Playstation.com.
Puzzle Guzzle, the full version, will be available February 27, 2008. It has been rated E by the ESRB and will cost $19.99. It certainly looks quirky and endearing, and the demo is pretty fun for free. I think I’d rather pick up Patapon than Puzzle Guzzle though - they’re the same price after all.
