Get ready for Club Nintendo North America

by Jenni Lada on Oct 2, 2008 at 08:29 PM

Club Nintendo logoHooray! Nintendo has finally decided that the time is right and the US is finally ready for a Club Nintendo branch of its own. Today (October 2, 2008) at Nintendo’s Fall Media Summit in San Francisco, the very last announcement was that Club Nintendo, a Nintendo loyalty program that rewards customers buying Nintendo games with points/stars, will finally be arriving in the US. The program will supposedly be implemented before the end of 2008.

In case you’re wondering what Club Nintendo is, Important Importables covered the loyalty program and its branches in Japan, Europe, Australia and South Africa last week. Club Nintendo reward items in these regions include DS games, special Nintendo game-themed accessories, toys, music and computer wallpapers.

So far, no reward items have been confirmed. Hopefully, some of those exclusive DS games (like Tingle’s Balloon Fight or the Game & Watch Collections), game soundtracks and controllers will be among the premiums offered.
