GDC 2010: PS3 motion controller will feature “nunchuk” attachment
Today (March 9, 2010) marks the start of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA. We expect lots of new information to pour down on us over the next few days regarding all things game related. One of the first tidbits out of the show comes from an anonymous developer that says the PS3 motion controller will have an attachment similar to the Wii’s nunchuck.
Speaking to Develop, the source says the attachment will be totally optional. The overall impression of this accessory will remind gamers of the Wii remote and nunchuck combo. It will also allow developers to work with similar gaming concepts forged by the Wii and apply them to the superior hardware capabilities of the PS3.
Sony has yet to confirm these details or publicly announce the name of the controller. Rumors have been circling for weeks that Arc will be the final name of the device.
Sony has a press conference scheduled for Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at GDC 2010 which should finally put an end to all the speculation regarding its new controller.
