GamesCampus to pay people who don’t like Asda Story $30

The open beta for the free massive multiplayer online rpg (MMORPG) Asda Story starts August 5, 2008, and Gamescampus.com has decided to make things interesting by starting The Guaranteed Fun Promotion on the same day. The Guaranteed Fun Promotion will refund $30 to any player who didn’t enjoy Asda Story.

There are some catches though. You can’t just log in once, then claim you didn’t like it when the 30 days is up. You have to make an account, download the Asda Story client, play for 30 days, raise a character to level 40 by September 4, 2008, and complete a survey telling Gamescampus.com why you didn’t like Asda Story.

The claims will only be accepted from September 5 to September 7, 2008. You can’t power level, share an account with someone or hack the game. If you do, you don’t get the $30. Also, after filing a claim, Gamescampus.com deletes your Asda Story character and account. Oh - and only 1,500 users who submit claims will get their money. Bet you thought getting that $30 would be easy.

Since Trickster Online recently decided to boycott my Vista laptop, I think I may just give Asda Story a try for a month. After all, there’s nothing to lose. If I like it, I have a new game to play. If I hate it, I get $30 and can go buy Disgaea DS or Rhapsody DS next month. Of course, I’d never get a character up to level 40 in time, but it could be fun to try.
