Duh statement of the century: gamers love to play games. However, most gamers also love to read about, watch, wear and hear about games or game-related stuff, so we put together a hot little list of non-game items that gamers will go gaga over this holiday. Besides - we can be a notoriously hard-to-shop-for bunch - so check out the following items for the elusive gamer on your holiday shopping list.

Left 4 Dead Movie Poster Pack - If you or your gamer can’t get enough of Valve’s magnificent zombie-blasting game, consider nabbing this 4-pack of posters based on the game’s 4 action-flick “scenarios”. Themed after cheesy action and B-horror movie posters, this is the perfect gift for a popcorn cinephile/gamer with braaaaains.

This Gaming Life novel - Gamers can be a very brainy bunch, and we like to encourage the reading of non-screen-based text here. This entry was praised by Crispy Gamer writer Troy S. Goodfellow, who called the work “year’s most interesting game-themed book” and deserves a read by anyone at all interested in the intersections between game culture and world culture. Fascinating stuff.

Cake is a Lie T-shirt Gamer Tees at Jinx.com - We listed these in the Cheap-ass gift guide, but these awesome game-centric tees are just too awesome not to pick up for a hardcore gamer on any budget. All decked out in popular gamer-isms and graphics, these shirts are comfortable and kick-ass, a winning combination.

WarGames: 25th Anniversary Edition DVD - Oh man, if you haven’t seen Wargames (about the finest example of 1980s filmmaking about videogames, next to perhaps, Cloak and Dagger), you haven’t lived! Gamers tend to be nostalgic for this “gamer nerd who actually wields military power” flick - and it’s well worth a watch for non-gamers as well.

Rockman 9 original soundtrackMegaman 9 Original Soundtrack - For retro gamers or game music lovers, this one is a must-buy. Featuring all the gorgeous, blippy tunes from the so-hardcore-it-hurts title, gamers will be excused if they do a little victory dance upon finding this one under the tree (or other holiday decoration!)
