A recent GameDaily article entitled “Top Ten Pokemon We’d Like to Eat” answers a question many Pokemon fans have debated and wondered about - if pokemon are edible. The author of the article certainly seems to think so, and the games certainly don’t suggest differently. In fact, the descriptions for each of the choices make quite a bit of sense and may get you hankering for a Magikarp fillet with panko breading. Yum.
The official ranking from the article is as follows:
Most of the decisions and reasoning behind the Pokemon menu choices is pretty sound. In fact, after reading through I found myself wanting some Krabby crab legs or perhaps some Torchic with tabasco. It’s an interesting premise. I was disappointed to see that both Farfetch’d and Corphish/Crawdaunt were excluded from the feast. They, at the very least, deserved honorable mentions. After all, Farfetch’d brings his own seasoning! And if I’m going to eat a duck pokemon, I wouldn’t choose a Psyduck - though Psyducks do look quite plump and juicy. Plus a Corphish/Crawdaunt is essentially a giant lobster. I love lobster. Let’s not forget Doduo/Dodrio either, as many people eat both ostrich eggs and burgers.
There should be a campaign to take out Ho-Oh and replace it with Farfetch’d or Corphish. Ho-Oh is far too lean, and I bet it would be stringy meat as well. It definitely not worth all the work necessary to catch it.
