Gaia Online has announced its first virtual water balloon fight with millions of teens and gamers online starting August 27, 2007. I should know since I’m also a Gaian and I’ve been stocking up on virtual water balloons since the event was announced several weeks ago. There’s nothing more dangerous than a ninja loaded with water balloons. And what better way to celebrate the summer festival than with a big fat water balloon and thousands of victims ... er ... Gaians online.

Over the years, the Gaia community has grown from a small avatar community to a site with tons of games, puzzles, online comics, movies and more for memebers to enjoy. Chat with people in the towns, purchase clothes, homes, furniture and cars for your avatar. They are steadily creating the ultimate hang out online in my opinion. But, for now, if you’re wandering around the towns and get splashed by a ninja named YuffietheGreat ... hehe.

If you haven’t received your water balloons during the pre-festival events that took place on Gaia starting August 20, 2007, don’t fret. First time Gaians can purchase the balloons from the virtual bait shop with the Gaia gold they receive after registering. So what if your avatar has to run around in their undies, it’s a water balloon fight. Enjoy.

Plus, if you don’t want to use water balloons there are squirt guns available. You’re not going to find me in the new community pool or hot tub, that’s how I got trapped earlier today. So if you’re going to try and smoke this little ninja out, you’ll have to look elsewhere to take me down. After weeks of anticipation and stocking up on water balloons for this event, I must say this is truly the best way to end the summer months without actually getting wet ... and that is with my internet buddies and the millions of other Gaians and a few aliens online during the event. Even the CEO of Gaia online is excited about the event.
