Fangbangers, get ready for True Blood game
That’s right, vampire fans. True Blood, HBO’s awesome vampire-meets-southern gothic TV series is in the running for a videogame adaptation. According to 1Up, HBO has filed “a trademark registration for the property in relation to games with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.” For “television receivers or with video or computer monitors, video games, computer games, game programs, video game discs, video game cartridges, video game CD-ROMs, video game cassettes, handheld video game devices, games, online games and electronic games.” Whew.
That laundry list, along with the fact that the supernatural show is high drama with a dose of southern fried camp, means that no one has any idea what this game would play like. But I have a few suggestions:
1. Make it an RPG! The show is all about character development and slowly unraveling mysteries. Hire writers from the show, get the voice acting down and give humans and vampires balanced combat powers, and we’re talking business.
2. Make it a dating sim based off of the exploits of Jason Stackhouse’s life.
3. Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not make a generic (or bad) third-person action/brawler. This is my one request.
Hey, it could happen. Vampires love videogames, after all.

What about a dating sim based on Sookie’s experiences? It’s hard to keep track of all the men she’s been with in the books.

on September 16, 2009 at 08:01 PM - LINKI think it would be better if they made it like the first series. I think it should let you be Sookie because of her mind reading, would make it more interesting.
