Save slumbering survivors in the PC adventure Twin Sector

by Jenni Lada on Dec 1, 2009 at 03:43 PM

Twin SectorGot Game’s PC game Twin Sector comes out very, very soon, so it figures that we’re finally going to find out why Ashley Simms, the game’s heroine, is so busy trying to save lives and figure puzzles out. It turns out Twin Sector takes place in a post apocolyptic future, in an underground base. Earth was so ravaged by the destruction that occurred above that it’s impossible for people to live there. Instead, thousands of survivors entered into an artificial sleep to wait until the living situation above ground got better.

Ashley was one of those people. Except she was woken up by the underground station’s computer security system with horrible news. The power system broke and if it isn’t fixed within 10 hours, all of the life support systems will fail and everyone there will die. She’s the only one who can get things working again and save the lives of all the other survivors. She’ll also have to find answers to some big questions, like why the generator isn’t working in the first place.

It looks kind of interesting. The whole first person, action/puzzle thing reminds me a bit of Portal. I also like that you’re not just trying to save the people, you also have 15 additional missions to complete along the way.

If you’re interested in Twin Sector, you won’t have to wait that long before getting to play it. The game comes out this week on December 5, 2009. It’ll cost you $29.99. Steam already has a listing for it, with trailers, if you’re so inclined. If you’re thinking of picking it up as a gift for someone this holiday season, remember that Twin Sector was rated “Teen” by the ESRB.
