Exclusive Gamertell discount for Titanstrike’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl tourney

by Lucy Newman on Jun 12, 2008 at 10:38 AM

TitanStrike tournament Here’s great news for Gamertell readers who own a Nintendo Wii. Titanstrike has organized a Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament with cash prizes over at SmashTournament.com. And Gamertell readers get an exclusive discount on the entry fee.

According to Francisco Diaz, founder of Titanstrike, this year’s tournament will bring more players than the last and will have a referee for each match.

“This Tournament we’re putting on will have a referee in every match This way we can properly deal with disputes, no-shows and disconnects,” Diaz said. “Last year’s online Counterstrike Tournament that we organized for Miss Video Game was very positive and we had some exciting match-ups nearing the end of the finals. This tournament is unique because it’s open to the public but we’re still expecting great match ups.”

He wanted to show me the site’s new action figure but, due to a very slow computer and the lack of a Wii, I was unable to view the arena and some of the new features to report on its awesomeness.

“I wanted to show you the instant action feature we have on the site,” he explained. “We can drop directly into the server via the website, without having to deal with IPs or any need of traditional lobbies. And we give +2 points per kill and -2 points if you die in game, and we track all the stats automatically and we started giving prizes to the leader boards, that’s what all the TS points are about.”

The tournament itself will be a 64 player Super Smash Bros. Brawl and will be played live on the Wii System.

“The tournament promises excitement with 1st place walking away with $100, 2nd place with $50 and finally 3rd place with $10,” Diaz explained. “The tournament is open to everyone over the age of 18 and to those that will boot up their Wii consoles on US and Canadian soil. The tournament will begin as soon as the 64 Player slots are filled over at the Smash Tournament website.”

In addition to the announcement Diaz offered a discount for all Gamertell readers who wish to participate. There is a 25% coupon discount available on the entry fee for GamerTell readers. This exclusive coupon reduces the entry fee from $5 USD to $4 USD and can only be redeemed by following this link.

While processing the entry fee please make sure that you provide your Alias, contact email and Smash Bros. Friend code. Please read the full details by clicking here.

“Yes, I challenge the Gamertell readers to a game of COD4 [Call of Duty 4] on the PC ... my Titan ID is FD,” he added and invites any reader to challenge him.
