Capcom has announced that Xbox Live Gold members who purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will also be able to download the beta of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for free when it is released. Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will be available for 800 points in spring 2008, and shortly after its released the beta version of Street Fighter will be made available for Gold members to download.

The beta is slightly lackluster. Only two characters will be available for play, Ryu and Ken. Players who participate will be able to battle against other opponents over Xbox Live. The purpose of the test is to allow Capcom to check the network code for the online multiplayer features of the game and ensure everything will work properly for the final release. The full version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Q2 2008.

Even though this is a nice offer, the beta test version doesn’t really seem earth shattering. Perhaps if there were a few more characters to choose from, it would be worth it. The fact that it only contains two characters and an online fighting mode makes it seem more like Capcom is teasing people.
