EA’s biggest guns at E3 2007: Crysis

by Danielle Riendeau on Jul 14, 2007 at 02:12 PM

Electronic Arts showed off impressive PC shooter Crysis at E3 2007, allowing journalists a first look at one of the completed levels. The title is a graphically stunning (to say the least) sci-fi shooter wherein players face off against aliens and other humans using traditional gunplay and an impressive array of abilities inherent to the player’s “nanosuit”, like enhanced speed and strength.

The nanosuit dynamic works well, giving players more freedom to kick enemy ass in any way they choose. The environments were built with the suit abilities in mind (for example, rocks are at such a height that a player can strength-jump onto them and thus gain tactical advantage). It’s all very clever, sandbox-y and well implemented.

The title is due out September 1, 2007, for the PC and it’s a safe bet just about every hardcore PC-er will snatch this up when it lands.
