E3 2009: Simple Lifeforms announces Spell Souls, searches for beta testers

by Jenni Lada on Jun 4, 2009 at 01:46 PM

Spell SoulsWhile E3 is a time for the major companies to make their important announcements, lesser known and independent developers and publishers also use the event to publicize their latest endeavors. Simple Lifeforms is one of those companies, and it’s chosen E3 2009 to announce it’s casual, free online game Spell Souls. Not only that, but the company is hoping to attract people interested in becoming beta testers for the game. Hopefully, by Summer 2009, Spell Souls will be available on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.

Spell Souls is a turn-based, magic dueling game. All players are wizards, sorcerers or shamans. The goal is to see who’s the strongest and most cunning. This is done in two ways. First is a strategic sort of game, where players can use their “friends” as warriors in battles. The second manner is in duels against other Spell Souls users, where you take turns trading blows.

If you want to register to be a potential beta tester, just visit the Spell Souls website. There’s a box at the top of the page that asks for your email address. When you offer it, you’re added to the Spell Souls newsletter and reserve of potential beta testers.

I wish Simple Lifeforms had some screenshots up. Just something small to give visitors a sample of what to expect from Spell Souls would be nice.
