If you’re finally starting to get tired of Wii Sports, Nintendo has you covered. Nintendo took a decent chunk of its press conference today to devote to the new Wii game Wii Sports Resort. The game comes out July 26, 2009, will cost $49.99 and will include one Wii Motion Plus peripheral.
On Wuhu Island, the Miis gather to play and relax in Wii Sports Resort. As demonstrated at the conference, the game begins with players sky diving to the island. There are 12 sports to take part in once you “arrive,” archery, air sports (sky diving/parachuting), basketball, bowling, canoeing, cycling, frisbee, golf, power cruising (jet ski riding), swordplay, table tennis and wakeboarding. There’s lots to do, though we’ve seen bowling and golf before in Wii Sports.
Once again, it’s a game you can enjoy alone or with friends. You can play any of the games and their challenges alone, or team up with four friends to play against or with one another.
I was skeptical about how good Wii Sports Resort would be, until I saw it in action at the Nintendo’s press conference. The basketball, archery and sky diving games seemed incredibly entertaining.
