Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker for the PSP

During E3 2009, Hideo Kojima announced a true sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (see clip below) for the PlayStation Portable called Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The game will be set in the 1970s in Latin America where, according to the video, the patriots are taking advantage of a country lacking a stable government, calling upon Snake to set things right again.

By the looks of the game it will play smoothly like the PlayStation 2 and 3 games which is a relief to those who were annoyed by the card-based turn system as much I was in Metal Gear Solid Acid and MGS: Acid 2. But Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker seems to have a more alluring story to tell.

Being set in 1970 puts the events 10 years following Metal Gear Solid 3 on the shores of Columbia, South America in the wake of the Cuban missile crisis. After bringing peace and neutrality to east and west Costa Rica a mysterious military group began engaging in suspicious activities calling on Snake to try and maintain the peace.

The game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.
