Gamertell decided to look at what DS games have been revealed so far, and pluck out the best of the best. These are the titles we can’t wait to play, and we’ll eagerly anticipate the release of. So far, it looks like the DS will be home to many interesting RPGs and ports.
Chrono Trigger DS: Square Enix recently dropped a bomb on fans when it announced that Chrono Trigger was being revamped and ported to the DS with new features like touch screen control and dual screen compatibility. There is no doubt in my mind that Chrono Trigger DS will be the DS game everyone is buzzing about once the convention’s over.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen: Yet another remake (not port, remake) of a classic Enix NES game, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen could very well be a huge hit. After all, Dragon Quest VIII did very well.
Infinite Line: Yet another DS RPG, Infinite Line has a little something special going for it, that is creating a huge buzz around it. It was created by PlatinumGames, formerly known as Clover Studios - the geniuses behind Okami and Viewtiful Joe. It follows the storyline of Childhood’s End by Arthur C. Clarke. Players will be able to create their own spaceship and crew, and then set off to battle other ships and explore the galaxy.
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix: The original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords was a huge hit, especially with the portable crowd, thanks to its engrossing gameplay and multiplayer mode. Its sequel, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, will also be a puzzle/RPG hybrid, but will also change the formula from the original game. It is set in outer space, as opposed to the original’s medieval setting, and features a hexagonal grid for swapping gems. Players can also purchase ships, hire crew members and explore the galaxy.
