The latest Painkiller game, Painkiller: Overdose, was announced by DreamCatcher Interactive and JoWooD at E3 2007.
The game will be released for Windows in October 2007 and include 6 new weapons, improved physics, more than 40 monsters and even bigger level bosses. The storyline will be a prequel to the previous Painkiller games (because we can never seem to have enough prequels) and is supposed to tie up all the loose ends (including the repercussions of Daniel defeating Lucifer in the original game).
Other features will include:
16 new levels
6 New demonic weapons grant the powers of a demi-god to souls awaiting damnation everywhere
A reshuffled Tarot deck infuses Belial with new powers and devastating combinations
More than 40 “demented and sickly-twisted monsters from Hell” (my mother-in-law?)
New end bosses “of colossal statures”
A series of stats tracking features and game server options intended to revamp the multiplayer experience
Multiplayer compatibility with original Painkiller multiplayer maps and game modes (now *that* is cool)
