Disturbed Indestructible Widget released to promote a forthcoming album

I’ve found a new internet addiction. Yes, Mabinogi has a new friend. It is the Disturbed Indestructible Widget. No - I don’t normally care for Disturbed’s music. That doesn’t matter. The Rithum Interactive mini-game has somehow wormed its way into my heart.
The band Disturbed has a new album, Indestructable, due June 3, 2008. To help promote it, Rithum created the new widget. It is a bit like Guitar Hero Ultra Lite, as it lets players press the ‘A,’ ‘S,’ ‘D,’ ‘F’ and ‘G’ keys in time with either “Perfect Insanity” or “Inside the Fire”. Each song has three different levels of difficulty, and the widget displays how many time each song has been played and your last score. The game is free to play, just click on it at Rithum’s site.
It is surprisingly addicting. I don’t know why. I clicked to learn about it mainly out of curiosity, and now I just can’t seem to look away. It was the standard difficult level that got to me I think. See, the fingers on my left hand aren’t used to working that way since I’m right handed. So the standard level of difficulty for “Perfect Insanity” has presented a challenge I must overcome.
In anyone asks why I keep playing “Perfect Insanity” over and over, I’ll just claim I’m supporting a local band. Yeah, that should work. I’m not easily amused, I’m supporting fellow Chicagoans.

on April 25, 2008 at 06:29 PM - LINKI know, right?
It was slow at work today when I was writing this up, so I ended up playing about 6 times in a row until I mastered the standard “Perfect Insanity.” The song actually ended up growing on me.
Its diabolical. XD
on April 25, 2008 at 08:04 PM - LINKDisturbed is a great band. Period. I anticipate their upcoming 4th album. This widget is wickedly addicting aswell. I’m trying to figure out how to get the code so I can add it to my own myspace so I can have it right there at my disposal. Any ideas?
on April 26, 2008 at 10:43 AM - LINKYou know, I’m starting to agree actually. I wasn’t a fan before, but after replaying both “Perfect Insanity” and “Inside the Fire,” they’re growing on me.
I’m not sure if you’ll be able to add it to a Myspace. Maybe check the official Rithum homepage at http://www.rithum.com?
on April 26, 2008 at 01:00 PM - LINKdisturbed has this on theyre myspace, anybody know how to get the code, maybe i should send them a message and ask
on June 13, 2008 at 11:03 PM - LINKI think they have it embedded Alex because they paid the place for the widget. I don’t think you can embed it on a personal page.
It doesn’t hurt to send them a message and ask though.

on June 16, 2008 at 11:54 AM - LINKI don’t think you can James. I think it was created specifically for the band’s own use.
