While in a scantastic mood, looking for holiday deals in various mailings, I noticed something rather curious in the November Dell catelog I received in the mail. It includes a page of video games. And not PC games.
Yes, Dell, the company known for making laptops, desktop computers, monitors, printers and PC accessories (at least, that’s what the title bar of the company’s web site reads), has an entire page dedicated to Nintendo games.
On page 36 of the catalog (scan is below), there are images of six Wii games and four DS games:
There’s also a Logitech Cordless Keyboard ($49.99) and a Logitech Speed Force Wireless Wii Wheel ($99.99).
The Dell site also offers other Nintendo products including DS Lites ($129.99), controllers and credits.
Has even Dell started the slippery slope toward the console side? What about all of those PC games out there? And what’s with siding with Nintendo instead of more computer-friendly Microsoft or Sony? Are dogs and cats living together? Whut up, Dell!?
So you don’t fell completely out of sorts due to those unanswerable queries, the rest of Dell’s November 2008 catalog is still your typical Dell offerings and, strategically placed, I’m sure, next to the Nintendo page is a page featuring two Dell gaming rigs:
Shipping is included with both rigs but no games. The catalog’s offers are good through November 2008 though they sometimes last longer online.
Scans of the Nintendo catalog page and Dell XPS 630s page are below:
