In the grand tradition of PSP games making their way to the PlayStation network, D3 Publisher has just announced that action title Dead Head Fred and puzzler/brain trainer PQ2: Practical Intelligence Quotient 2 are now available for download. Both games are going for $14.99. If I remember correctly, both games are pretty damn good, so if you have the hankering for a little action-adventure, or seriously brain-bending puzzles, you could do worse.
The coolest new feature has to be PQ2‘s comparison mode, where players can rank their score among the top 100 scores in the world, or against others in their country, gender, age group, etc. It’s like a leaderboard - but for intelligence.
I’m thinking Sony has the best plan for digital distribution at this point in the game. I’ve heard that nearly all new PSP games will be downloadable by next year - and smart publishers are beginning to offer their wares (like these two…) as well. Plus, look at downloadable PS3 titles like Burnout Paradise, Siren: Blood Curse and Warhawk...if digital distribution is the future, Sony will be the one to beat in the coming months.
