Hidden among the many booths of big-name gadgets, electronics and myriad gear at CES 2010 there will also be plenty of lesser-known game-related products. CyWee Group, for example, will be there demonstrating its WiiMote-like game controller that works with PCs running Windows and Mac OS. And it doubles as a computer mouse.

Currently available for $79.99 (regularly $99.99) through the company’s web site, CyWee’s press release promises that the CyWee Z is a hinged, wireless motion-sensitive controller that “incorporates the latest in motion-sensing technology” and can be used in four basic configurations: straight and swung like a golf club, bent at the hinge and held like a gun or bent, held like a steering wheel or rotated and held like a futuristic jet plane.

The CyWee currently works with four, non-Nintendo PC games:

• Pool Sharks - An online pool and Snooker game
• Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 - Golf, of course. An oldie but a goodie
• Gun Metal - A shooter to use that gun configuration.
• Crashday - An action racing game.

The press release also claims that it has “pre-mapped dozens of popular PC games to take advantage of the Z’s 3D motion-sensing capabilities.” The controller also comes with mapping software (“CyWee Game Launcher User Interface program”) so you can use it with any computer or web-based game. It will work with Windows (XP, Vista and 7) and Mac (OS X 10.4 or later) and requires a USB port for the wireless adapter.

CyWee will be demonstrating the controller for an hour (5 to 6 p.m.) to select media on January 7, 2010, at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV (USA).

From the site’s images it appears to have, on the top, two larger buttons near the tip, a round directional pad in the middle and a button below the hinge. It also has a hing in the middle and a recessed trigger button on the bottom.
