Independent Game studio Cyborg Arm Games has just released a new, extremely affordable, FPS titled Cry of the Infected. Not only does this new title have zombies, but it allows the player to work through the storyline as one of the crazed undead, Robert, who is searching for his wife. The game is only for Windows PCs, requires DirectX 9.0c, needs 300mb and is only for users ages 17 and up. It is available for download through the Cry of the Infected website for $4.
Robert really has it tough - he was infected and turned into one of the walking undead, and he’s being attacked by both soldiers and other zombies while just trying to find out what happened to his wife. It’s touching in a way. I never knew zombies could be sentimental. The soldiers in the game are frantic (with good reason) and the other zombies are just insane. Cry of the Infected contains 13 challenging, undead levels and an alternate ending that can be unlocked by replaying the game.
If $4 is still too much for you, a free demo is also available. The Cry of the Infected demo has the same requirements as the full version and is a 82.47mb download. It contains one level from the game, so you’ll be able to tell right away if it is a title you’ll enjoy.
