The game takes place in a future where bugs dominate the planet, relegating humans to the edges of society. You’re Chrys Lyszt, some sort of bug, trying to solve the case of a CEO’s suspicious death. It all takes place against a noir backdrop, which usually means lots of shadows and slow jazz. In a trailer on the game’s Web site the developers cite The Wire and The French Connection as inspiration. So, there’s that.
An early review at IGN gave the game a 7, saying the game’s mystery was a blast but was muddled by the action bits. I still get a kick out of seeing good 3D up and running on my DS, though, so maybe $30 isn’t too much to ask for an average game.
The game is the second that industry rabble-rousers Gamecock has shipped for DS after the brilliant Dementium: The Ward. An episodic version of the game will be available in the future for PC.
