Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.

There are two ways to play at Console Classix. You can create a free account which allows you to play the Atari 2600, ColecoVision and NES games available on the site. So even if you go free, you’ll have access to hundreds of games. Or, you can pay for a full account, either $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and you’ll be able to play all of the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, Genesis, Nintendo, Sega Master System and Super Nintendo games available on the site. So far, over 3,000 games are available and you can check out the site’s library before you subscribe.
The only catch is, only Windows PCs can take advantage of Console Classix’s program. If your computer is running Windows 2000 or higher, you’ll be fine. Still, I recommend testing the service out first with a free account to determine if it is right for you. Also, keep in mind, if a game you like isn’t there yet, it could be soon. More games are constantly being added to the site.
Personally, I was a little surprised to see Game Boy Advance games there. It’s a great addition, since the GBA had a wonderful selection of games, but unexpected nonetheless. Another nice touch is, on the console page, there’s a brief history of the system you can read through.
