After preparing a nice little news story about how the next Metal Gear game might be coming to the iPhone, Kojima Productions goes ahead and updates its site confirming that indeed, the next Metal Game is:
Rumors first broke about the iPhone/iPod Touch game earlier this morning (December 17, 2008), when someone noticed that Famitsu” title=“Famitsu’s” target=“external”>Famitsu’s upcoming issue contains scans” title=“scans”>scans of a game dubbed Metal Gear Touch.
Kojima mentioned to 1UP, that we would be hearing details about the upcoming game “in a few weeks”. Well Mr. Kojima, either your translator mis-translated, or the entire internet beat you guys to the punch.
According to 1UP, the game will feature 8 levels with more to be added on later. Also, points earned within the game will be used to unlock images and wallpaper.
From the looks of the screen shot, and confirmed by a company press release, the game will take place during Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots .
The game is due Spring 2009.
So much for those Xbox 360 and Metal Gear Ac!d rumors, though Metal Gear Ac!d was probably the second best guess for that teaser. As for that green coloring, turns out Hideo Kojima just loves to mess with our minds. Oh Mr. Kojima, you ole’ prankster, you.
