Comic Con 2008: Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall coming Fall 2008 for PC, Mac

by Jeremy Hill on Jul 25, 2008 at 01:32 PM

FusionFallTruth be told, some things on Cartoon Network are just plain entertaining to both kids and adults. I’d imagine the same argument would hold some ground for Cartoon Network’s new browser-based massively multiplayer online game. Cartoon Network enlisted the help of Unity Technologies’ game engine to bring the title to life. The game is named Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall and it will be released Fall 2008 for PC and Mac.

FusionFall puts players on the front lines during an alien invasion of the Cartoon Network universe. Players from all over the internet will have to join forces to drive back those perky extraterrestrials. Avatars will be customizable so hopefully there won’t be too much of a problem with everyone looking the same. There’s going to be 60 different areas to explore in the game. Along with actual human participants, characters from popular Cartoon Network shows will make appearances including a few from Ben 10: Alien Force, Dexter’s Laboratory, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends and plenty more.

The game has almost entered beta mode and registration is open to the public on the game’s site. Once signed up you’ll receive up to the minute updates on FusionFall and a chance to be entered into the beta. Some of the gameplay will be free, but Cartoon Network will release details about pricing options soon. Take a look at the trailer for a closer examination.
