Some titles for the mini-games, like “Pie in the Face”, “Dummy Cannonball”, “Pizza Delivery” and “Dummy Dance,” have been announced, but no screen shots or descriptions have been provided. “Pizza Delivery” sure sounds promising, doesn’t it? Just kidding - it doesn’t.
It will also feature that one gameplay notion we all adore - unlocking. All the mini-games aren’t instantly available - you have to master some open ones to unlock them. Not the best idea for a mini-game collection people are going to want to pick up and play. I bet the developers were thinking that unlocking would force people to play and add replay value - it won’t. People will just get frustrated and trade it in for something better.
The best part of all this is that CID the Dummy hasn’t even been released. It doesn’t even have a firm release date yet! Every place lists it as Q2 2008. I don’t know about you, but if I was part of a video game developing/publishing company, I think that I’d want to see if people like a character before I started working on a spin-off.
I don’t really know what else to say about this, other than I think we’ve found the next Bubsy.
