It’s not concrete but Kotaku picked up a report from Japanese gaming goodness Famitsu, that Chrono Trigger DS will come with one additional ending as well as the all new “Character Mode.”
What could the newest ending to the smash hit RPG behold? No one yet knows as there weren’t any details but would you really want us to post them anyway? Instead, we’ll leave you with the above screenshot supposedly taken from the secret ending.
Details on the new Character Mode were a little more forgiving and totally spoiler free. The new mode will include some treasure maps, monster data, an in-game soundtrack, and the ability to watch event cut-scenes. Along with these new details, Chrono Trigger DS will be packing a new dungeon, a “Battle Arena”, and promises to remain faithful to the original SNES game, no Final Fantasy IV 3D face lifts here. I was hoping for some co-op time traveling via Wi-Fi, but a new ending is nice too.
Chrono Trigger DS is currently set to release November 25, 2008, a bump from its previously set date of early December and priced at $39.99.
