Chop Til You Drop this Christmas

Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop

The addictive zombie slaying gameplay we’ve come to love in Dead Rising on the Xbox 360 will soon be coming to the Wii Q4 2008. This is a shocking title to be ported over to the often family-friendly Nintendo Wii but it’s certainly more than welcome.

As expected, there will be some changes made to the Wii version including the name, which will become Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop, a simply awesome title.

The WiMote plays a vital role as it will be used to aim and shoot hordes of zombies as well as swing melee weapons and shake off zombies who get too close. The Wii version also includes what Capcom calls improved save functionality. This could possibly suggest automatic save at regular intervals so there will be little breaks in the action. Sadly there will be a lower number of zombies on screen at one time.

As for the story, you’ll play as Frank West, a journalist in search of big story who finds himself in a small town that has become overrun by the living impaired. Naturally, Frank takes refuge in the local mall that turns out to also be infested with zombies. From there it’s your job to complete certain objectives to get through the game. There will also be some lucky (or unlucky) citizens that you can rescue along the way.

It’s good to see the trend of zombie killing alive and well across all consoles.
