CES 2010: Sony rep says Heavy Rain “blows Uncharted 2 away” (with exclusive video)

by Jeremy Hill on Jan 8, 2010 at 12:08 AM

Heavy Rain CES 2010Heavy Rain was sharing space with God of War III at CES 2010 and both games looked really good graphically. One Sony representative instructing the demo for Heavy Rain gave a pretty bold statement that challenges Uncharted 2 for best looking game of all time.

Another reporter and I were talking to the representative about how he would categorize Heavy Rain since it appeared to be a more passive experience. When Uncharted 2’s action oriented gameplay and graphics came up, the representative said, “Graphically, it [Heavy Rain] blows Uncharted 2 away.”

If you don’t believe me take a look at the video below. Around the 11 second mark you’ll hear the Sony rep handing over Uncharted 2’s graphics title to Heavy Rain.

Is he right? Has Heavy Rain toppled Uncharted 2 in the graphics department? We’ll know when it releases February 23, 2010.

I don’t know about “Blowing it away”. Uncharted 2’s graphics are completely unmatched by any game on any platform, Heavy Rain is really going to have to go some to make Uncharted 2 look outdated. Either way, i can’t wait for this game to come out.

David, I hope you meant to say any console and not any “platform”.  There’s a few PC games that look better/have looked better than Uncharted 2.  There’s a 2007 PC game called Crysis that still looks better than Uncharted 2 or any other console game.

Thank you Mike. I was about to type the same thing. Although Uncharted 2 looks great nevertheless.
