Castlevania Judgment goodness revealed at E3 2008

One of the great long-standing game franchises is =Castlevania. Early on, the game was a side-scrolling adventure or an RPG (usually side-scrolling). Now it is getting its first fighting game and a next-gen face lift with Castlevania Judgment.
The game will feature the best known heroes and most vile allies of Dracula, amounting to 14 usable characters in an all out brawl. If you ever wanted to cause infighting for who the best vampire slayer is, now you will be able to. You will also be able to find out general in Dracula’s legions of the damned is the most effective. Unfortunately, there are no details on whether or not Dracula will be a playable character.

Castlevania Judgment‘s details at the moment are a bit sparse but here are some of the basics. Yes, Konami is still working as the publisher and developer. It, at least at the moment, is solely for the Wii. Though there are only three playable characters in the demo revealed at E3 (Maria, Simon Belmont and Alucard) there is will be 14 character choices, this does not include unannounced unlockable characters.
Characters are designed by manga artist Takeshi Obata. The environment will play into battles in a big way. Some of the standard non-boss monsters will appear in some stages so you may have to go from worrying about just your opponent to worrying about monsters as well, however the same goes for your opponent.

The game is seeming like it will be released with the DS game Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. since you will be able to use a copy of Order of Ecclesia to unlock special items. The one complaint heard regarding Judgment is that it doesn’t seem to have the same depth of story as the past 22 years of Castlevania.
Both of these game will probably be carrying the standard “Teen” rating that the series has been receiving from the beginning. For a view of both upcoming Castlevania titles watch the video below:

I dunno bro, I think this will come down to what type of story mode they throw into the game. But then, it’s still early on. Let’s see how this game’s development unfolds.
