Since April 4 2008, the 4 new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty have had over 1 million downloads through Xbox Live. The map pack is sold for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), which amounts to a whole lot of cash for the already internationally successful game.
Robert Bowling, the community relation manager at Infinity Ward expressed his thanks to fans through a press release, stressing that he and the makers of Call of Duty are committed to continually brining the best possible product to gamers worldwide. The Variety Map Pack is certainly only the beginning of Call of Duty‘s ongoing global domination.
There were a few bumps in the road however as thousands of Xbox Live gamers experienced frequent crashes, slowdowns or errors when attempting to download the map pack immediately after its release. Since then, everything seems to be in working order, resulting in one of the best weeks in Xbox Live history.
