Modern Warfare. Now the NPD Group, one of the world’s leading market research companies, has placed Call of Duty 4 on top as January 2008’s best selling title.
The 360 version of COD 4 was the only game in January 2008 to sell more than 300,000 copies with 140,000 sole on the PS3. The next closest Xbox 360 title was Rock Band, which sold just over half the number of units as COD 4.
On Xbox Live, Call of Duty continues to dominate, expanding its lead over the former champion Halo 3 as the most played game on Xbox Live.
Even though Call of Duty 4 has only been out since November 2007, it has gone on to sell well over 7 million units worldwide making it last years most purchased game.
