Bungie responds to decreasing size of in-game text

Looking for a legit response for my previous post titled “Am I getting old or is game text getting smaller?” I contacted the PR department for Bungie.
In the original post, I made a physical measurement comparison of the word “Campaign” used in the main menu of each of the three Halo games to verify that there is, indeed, a significant decrease in text size with each new game.
To my humorous surprise, Bungie quickly responded via email with microscopically small text. Here’s the official response:
“It may have something to do with HDTV resolutions and the increasing complexity and number of UI items available, but it’s not something we do deliberately.”
Since the person who responded to my email inquiry did not include his or her name or email signature, I cannot be certain who exactly from Bungie drafted - and resized - the response. I’d take a screenshot of the email but you’d need a microscope and a super widescreen HD monitor to read it.
Oh Bungie, you make me giggle so.
The reply does indicate that I was correct to guess that developers are jamming in more stuff into smaller space and forgetting that not all gamers have HD TVs. I guess when you can release three versions of the same game and have countless licensing agreements you can also assume your fanatical audience has unlimited cash and the latest equipment.

LOL!
I’ve often wondered this my self. I had to get a HDTV because I was getting sick and tired of sitting so close to my screen trying to read the pop up warning of danger, only to fall to my death.
