Braid is one of the most unique downloadable games to be released on Xbox Live Arcade. Its popularity helped it to be ported over to the PlayStation Network and digital games distributing services such as Steam. This month (January 2010) Braid will be released for PC on a physical disc and shipped to retailers across the United States.
Videogame developer and publisher MumboJumbo will be responsible for Braid‘s release in stores. It hopes to expand Braid‘s audience to those who may not have the ability to purchase games digitally.
Braid will sell for $19.99 which is more expensive than its digital counterparts, but is understandable given the extra expenses that are involved with retail releases. MumboJumbo has not stated whether regions outside the US will distribute Braid at retail or if it is involved in that process at all.
Braid is a time altering puzzle game that revolves around Tim who is trying to rescue a princess. It features a great musical score and puzzles that will make you bang your head against the wall. The satisfaction for figuring out these puzzles is the biggest motivation for completing the game. It’s a worthy addition to any gamers collection.
