Don’t like the whole “download only” game buying model? Gearbox and 2K Games sympathize with you and want to make sure all Borderlands players, even those without internet access, can enjoy the game’s downloadable content. So on February 23, 2010, Borderlands Double Game Add-On Pack will be released for $19.99. It includes the first two Borderlands add-on expansions, “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” and “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,” that were previously only availanle as downloads.

GameStop currently has two listings for the hard copy version of the DLC. There’s one for the Xbox 360, and one for the PC. Sorry PS3 owners, it looks like you may be stuck buying “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” and “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot” through the PlayStation Store.

The price isn’t too outrageous either. “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” and “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot” each cost $9.99 when released for the PC and PS3, and 800 Microsoft Points ($10) when released for the XBox 360. So, aside from tax, you’re paying the same price whether you download or get it from a store. Plus, you have a hard copy so you never have to worry about hard drive problems or possibly losing the data and having to redownload it.

Honestly, I like the idea. I especially think it’s a good option for Xbox 360 owners, since some gamers don’t have the high speed internet connection or ability to connect their system to the internet. This way, no one’s left out.
